Carla Juri Biography :

Carla Juri received the attention of the American industry with her acclaimed interpretation of ‘Helen’ in the controversial German film Wetlands, directed by David Wnendt. The film premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, which led her to have a Best Actress nomination at the 2014 German Academy Awards (LOLA).

Juri returned to Sundance in 2016 from the hand of director Chad Hartigan with Morris From America, along with Craig Robinson. He has recently starred in Walking to Paris by Peter Greenaway and Brimstone by Marton Koolhoven and with Kit Harington, Dakota Fanning and Guy Pearce. He had the leading role in the German film Paula, based on the life of the famous German expressionist painter Paula Modersohn Becker, which premiered at the Locarno Film Festival. Juri was nominated for several awards as the Best German Actress at the Jupiter Awards.

Carla Juri made his 180th professional debut of Cihan Inan, for which he won the Swiss Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. This success was followed by the cult classic Someone Like Me by Xavier Koller, for which he again won the Swiss Film Award but this time for Best Actress. We have been able to see Juri in several German and Italian projects as well as in the British film Fossil by Alex Walker.

Currently, Carla Juri is shooting the starring role of Dear Agnes, the second feature of the trilogy “Intrigo” by Daniel Alfedson for Enderby Entertainment.

Carla Juri was born in Ticino, Switzerland, and grew up being bilingual. She studied acting in Los Angeles and London. In 2013 Carla Juri received the European Shooting Stars Award.
